Activities for the general public

The Centre participates in local activities to help make science more accessible to school pupils, students and the general public.

  • Every year, the Centre of Clermont-Ferrand - Theix participates in the Science Festival organized at the request of the Ministry of Research.

  • Throughout the year, the Centre is strongly involved in setting up innovative projects in collaboration with local partners in scientific mediation and education: Clermont-Ferrand History Museum, Centre of Scientific and Technical Culture, Innovation Centre, Education Authority, Regional Teachers' Resource Centre (CRDP), etc.
  • Since 2003, "Science Short Films" create ideal opportunities for researchers and the public to meet.
  • Another objective is to provide information on different job opportunities in research. Young researchers meet with school children and students during the Science Festival week as well as during career forums and other events.
  • The local media (newspapers, radio, television) are also vital for their coverage of the Centre's activity.
