Working for INRA

INRA has specific procedures for recruiting permanent and temporary staff.

  • Recruiting permanent staff

INRA employs researchers, engineers and technicians recruited through open competitions.

    • Open competitions are organized once a year during the first semester. The positions are published in the Journal Officiel and on our website.
    • Internal competitions are open to state employees and staff without tenure having a length of service fixed by law.
    • Biennial mobility campaigns propose a list of vacant positions for engineers and technical staff. These positions concern INRA employees who wish to be transferred, as well as employees from other public sector establishments.

You will find all the information you need on INRA's international website.

    • Handicapped persons can be recruited:
      • By open competitions: tests can be organized according to the nature of the handicap.
      • By recruitment on a one-year fixed-term contract, possibly renewable, followed by granting tenure without having to sit an open competition.

    • Contracts for post-doctoral positions: an annual recruitment campaign for post-doctoral positions is organized every year. These young researchers, irrespective of nationality, are selected on the basis of a coherent scientific and professional project to work as part of INRA’s research teams. The recipients are recruited on a two-year contract with a gross monthly salary of 2150€. For further information, see INRA's international site.

    • Trainee recruitment: throughout the year, the INRA Centre of Clermont-Fd - Theix welcomes trainees, students of secondary, technological or higher education establishments within the context of obligatory training periods. An agreement should be determined between the school, INRA and the trainee. Only training directly linked to the research topics of the Centre and the research support services will be accepted.
